Hi, I’m Melissa Sharkevich, and I am proudly changing one life at a time by empowering women to be the best versions of themselves in Glastonbury, CT! I immersed myself in the beauty industry in 2005 when I started attending the International Institute of Cosmetology, located in Wethersfield, CT. I’m a huge believer in community over competition, and I always dreamed of opening my own salon to create a safe place for stylists to come together as a community. 

Over the years, I have seen so many changes in the beauty industry, but one thing I could never wrap my head around was when clients would come to me with the struggle of hair loss. As taught, I would always tell them to see their doctor, just for the client to come back and say the doctor told them to see their hairdresser. That was when I decided to take action and become a certified hair loss practitioner with USTI, with the goal of restoring confidence and empowering women suffering from hair loss. Understanding the patterns and reasons for hair loss and knowing how to adjust and restart hair growth led me on a journey of learning and mastering a variety of hair extension methods. 

Invisible Bead Extensions® is the method that was the real game changer for me. I started with their basic certification and officially became IBE® certified. Using the method behind the chair, my clients couldn’t believe how much IBE® changed their daily routine and how the method allowed them to wear extensions without anyone ever knowing they had them. I delivered client satisfaction and gave the woman in my chair the confidence I strive for. 

Over the past year, I have redirected my focus to exclusively offering the IBE® method and color services. I wanted to focus more on the trichology end of the industry because I believe your hair empowers you and plays a huge part in your confidence. With my trust in Mckenzie Turley, the owner of IBE®, I decided to further my education. I am now a Master, certified in business, color, cutting, and technique with IBE®, and have taken on the role of Elite & Platform artist, along with Regional Educator, where I will continue to grow to help other stylists in the same place that I was once in.
